Happy 1st Official Day of Fall!! All week we’ve been posting tail gating tips, recipes and decor; all elements that are sure to make the next game you host one to remember. There is a slight misconception about tailgating and football that we will refute today: Women LOVE football too!! Growing up in a household with 2 former football players (my dad and older brother), it was by default that I attended games and even was a cheerleader. Over the years I have become an avid fan in my own right. Any one who knows me personally, knows that I am as girlie as a girl can be! If it requires a dress and heels, I am there! If it comes with ruffles, glitz and sparkles, I NEED it! So, I completely understood the frustration of one of our readers who has been having a tough time planning a feminine tailgate/game day party. Ladies (and some gents) , here is your Guide to Hosting a Feminine Tailgate!
Here’s an example from Mirabelle Creations :
When designing your dessert table be creative! Mira created a faux lamp shade chandelier to hang over her table!
Let’s take a closer look at the decor on the table.

The crystal beads hanging from the faux chandelier give add a touch of elegance; along with the fresh flowers and ruffle banner made from fabric.
PIE POPS!!! Yes, blueberry pie on a stick! These are perfect for game day parties, they are easy to eat and less clean up for the hostess.
Homemade football sugar cookies! To jazz up you simple white serve wear: cut scrap paper that coordinates with your chosen color scheme to fit in the center of the dish. At the end of the party, just throw the paper away!
Izze sparkling sodas are the perfect alternative for your guests who do not drink alcohol. They come in a wide variety of flavors/colors that will tie into your chosen color palette.
Use decorative scrapbook paper to serve sweet and salty kettle corn. Simply, wrap the paper in a cone shape and fasten with tape or a glue dot.
Remember when hosting a tailgate for your girlfriends keep the food and refreshments fun. Don’t hold back on the glitz and glam! Have fun with all the elements of your party and be sure to feature things that your group of friends will appreciate. Do you ladies have a signature drink when you go out? Go ahead and serve it up!
Here is a mash up of some fun football inspired treats!
Whoopie Pies !
Wanna try these ? Here’s the recipe .
Order chocolate covered strawberries .
Bake up some brownie pops!
All of the sweets look sooo yummy!!! I hope that you can use some of these ideas the next time you host “Girls’ Game Day” ! As always, we love to get feedback from our readers; so, send in your pics and post your comments!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Alicia
