National Wine Day could not have occurred on a more perfect day.  It’s Friday and most of us have a 3 day weekend to look forward to.  Woohoo! In honor of one of the most important holidays on our calendar, National Wine Day (oh and Memorial Day ) we wanted to highlight one of our favorite wine brands, Cupcake Vineyards.

Cupcake Vineyards does not offer an ordinary selection. Each flavor has been created to complement your favorite dishes and desserts.  There are 14 varieties of reds, whites and sparkling wines in their collection.

Adam Richardson, native of Australia, started Cupcake Vineyards in 2008 at vineyard in Central California with the mission to create wines that are “rich, creamy and downright delicious”. If you read the descriptions of the wines you would agree.

Red

Take “Red Velvet” for instance, has notes of deep blackberries, chocolate, red fruits and a hint of coconut.  The recommended paring includes BBQ Cheeseburger and/or chocolate fondue.

White

The Angel Food is a Chardonnay with grape undertones that will remind of the airy sweet taste of that angelic dessert. A white cheddar fondue should be paired with this wine.

If you love your wine sweet,  fruity and sparkling, Cupcake Vineyard’s Moscato D’ Asti will be an instant fav! This flavor encompasses the sweetness of lychee and peach with notes of tropical fruits to maintain the exotic tastes.  Fresh berries and cream, poached pears and mascarpone cheese are the recommended pairings for this flavor.

With over 14 varieties there is sure to be a flavor/style of wine for almost any one.  Not only are Cupcake Vineyard’s impeccable in flavor, they are excellent on the wallet. At under $15 , you could grab a couple bottles, then swing past your favorite bakery (if you don’t bake) to pick up a few complementing desserts and a host a sweet wine tasting at home!
